(Notes saved from the conversation at 4.05.1957)

Q.- In Koran, it has been said that there would be a reciprocity for both evil and charity even in measure of mithqal (4.8gr) . How could they be measured?

Emre – Everyone has its own meter in his/her consience. Can you forget the evil which you did? God doesn’t need any notebook, meter or writer.

(Here we offer this revelation to our readers) :  

Uykudan uyanmak, gözünen değil,
Kuşdili öğrenmek, sözünen değil;
Secde-i Rahmânı nerde buyurmuş,
Bilip görmek lâzım, dizinen değil.

Bütün mahlûk eder söze itaat,
Bilir, bilmez eder o emre dikkat;
Her taraftan gider yerli yerine,
(Sırat) dedikleri köprü; (Doğru Hat).

Kıl gibi değildir, geniş; değil dar;
Lisân-ı hâl ile târif eden var:
Görüp seyredene tatlı seyrangâh,
Her yanı gülistan, öten bülbül var.

Sıkıntılı olmaz Sırâtı müstâkîm.
Güle güle geçer nefsine hâkim;
Kur’ânda bulunmaz hiç böyle târif,
Bu sırrı bilenler geçiyor salim.

Mevlâ bakkal değil, neyler terazi?
Günâh ile tartmaz, bilirsek, bizi;
Köprüsüz, Mizansız bizi muhittir,
Tasavvuftan tâkip edelim izi.

Neler koymuşlardır gün gibi dine…
Cehil karışır mı (Din-i Mübîn)e?
Mevlâ’nın kâtibe ihtiyacı yok,
(Emre) doğru söyler, taşlarlar yine.

Kalblerde duruyor Kâtiple Kalem,
Bâzı ferah yazar, bâzı da elem;
Kuluna bildirir Mevlâ her dâim,
(Dört Kitap)tan bize der (Mâ lemyâ’lem).

Ey gönül bilmeğe, sen var da çalış,
Ağzından çıkıyor, kulak bir karış;
Küs müsün Mevlâya? Gözünü aç, bak,
Benliği terkeyle, yaklaş da barış.

Kul (Yâ Allah) derse, O söyler (Lebbeyk!)
Onun ile dolu kan ile ilik;
Başı yükseltmeğe neler vermiştir;
Üç yüz altmış parça dizili kemik.

Ayağı yerde de, başı semâya,
Bil de teslim eyle gönlü Mevlâ’ya;
Sen bir katrasın, at, kurtul azaptan,
Ruhun bir damladır, yetiş (Derya)ya.

Eğer aklın erse, edersin çok âh,
Âh etsen, dökülür sendeki günâh;
(Sizi bana satın!) demiş Kur’ânda,
(Emre)! İşittiysen, Hazreti Allah.

Waking up is not accomplished with eye,
Learning “pig latin” is not with the say,
When it’s ordered “to prostrate The Merciful”
To see and know is need, instead of knee.

All of the creatures obey the say,
Beware the order aware or unaware.
From each side goes into place,
Bridge called “al Sirat “; “The Right Way”.

It’s not like hair; not narrow, it’s wide,
Someone defines with body language.
Watchers see it as lovely promenade,
Rose garden with sonorous nightingale.

“The Right Way” can’t be so rough,
The continent one passes by laugh.
In Koran there is no such a tariff,
Knowers of this secret pass as safe.

God is not grocer, doesn’t need scales,
If we know, He doesn’t gage with sin, us;
He surrounds us without bridge and meter,
Let’s follow from sufism, the trace.

In obvious religion, they put a lot of things,
Can“true religion” mix with ignorance?
God doesn’t need an amanuensis,
Emre says right, yet they all satirize.

An amanuensis and pen sits in our heart,
Sometimes writes pain sometimes glad;
God says to His subject through four books,
“He is the One who teaches the man occult.”

Lets endeavour to know, my heart;
You say, your ear is at handbreadth;
Do you offend God? Open your eye, look,
Leave ego, come closer and reunite.

Subject says “My God”, He says “Welcome”
Blood and marrow have filled with Him,
To raise the head, He had given much,
Series of three hundred and sixty bone.

His head at the sky, his foot at the earth,
Know and hand in God your loving heart;
You are just a glob; throw it, get rid of pain,
Your soul is a drop, arrive at “the Profound”.

You will groan a lot if you understand,
But if you groan, your sin is eliminated,
“Lets sell out yourselves to me,”
If you hear (Emre)! In Koran God said.

Emre – Sufism breaks many ikons of us and saves us from a lot of conditionings. It gives the people admiration. Combines the mind with God. Although in what, God isn’t combined? God surrounds everything. I couldn’t say “it’s mine” for any of my side! We suffered so much. Now God is blessing to you.

Q. – In many of the sufi books they say “if you don’t have a guide your past and future will be destroyed.” 

Emre – The owner of our religion also says : “ I couldn’t know my Lord without my tutor. “

Q. – What is the necessity of being perfect human?

Emre –Rightness.

Q.- Ok, what if a person is right and believe in God, does he /she still need a guide?

Emre – There is a difference in beliefs. Is it possible to translate  “Eşhedü en lâ ilâhe illâllah”

Q.- It’s possible.

Emre – What does  “eşhedû” means?

Q.- “I testify that there is no deity/divinity other than God.” 

Emre – How can one testify?

Q. – By means of seeing.

Emre – Look, this is the faith. The one who doesn’t witness, can’t believe with heart. As long as it is possible to see, why do we adjourn today’s job to tomarrow. What if our life comes to the end tomarrow?

Q. – Do you mean for guide the one who knows the Islam religion well?  

Emre – The one who knows well but not in scholastic knowledge. Mısrî Niyazî tells this subject very well:      

Dermân arardım derdime,
Derdim bana dermân imiş,
Burhan arardım aslıma,
Aslım bana burhan imiş.

Sağ ve solum gözler idim
(Dost) yüzünü görsem deyu,
Ben taşrada arar idim,
Ol can içinde can imiş.

Öyle sanırdım: Ayrıyım,
Dost gayridir, ben gayriyim,
Benden görüp işiteni,
Bildim ki ol Cânan imiş.

Savm-u salât-ü hac ile
Sanma biter zâhit! İşin,
İnsânı kâmil olmağa,
Lâzım olan irfân imiş.

Kanden gelir yolun senin,
Ya kande varır menzilin?
Nerden gelip gittiğini
Anlamayan hayvan imiş.

Mürşîd gerektir bildire
Hakkı sana (Hakkelyakîn),
Mürşîdi olmayanların
Bildikleri gümân imiş.

Her mürşîde dil verme kim,
Yolunu sarpa uğratır,
Mürşîdi Kâmil olanın,
Yolu gayet âsân imiş.

Anla: Hemen bir sözdürür
Yokuş değil, dümdüzdürür,
Âlem kamu bir (yüz) dürür,
Gören ânı hâyran imiş.

İşit (Niyazî)nin sözün,
Bir nesne örtmez Hak yüzün,
Haktan âyân bir nesne yok,
Gözsüzlere pihhân imiş.

I was seeking a cure for my sorrow,
My sorrow has been cure, I know.
I was seeking an evidence for my self,
My self has been evidence to me now.

I was watching my left and right,
In order to see the face of Dost,
I was searching at provinces,
He had been life in life at last.

I was assuming that “I’m separate”,
Dost is apart, I am also apart,
Who sees and hears from me,
Has been The Beloved, I’ve got.

Praying, pilgrimage and fast,
Don’t think is enough devotee!
Understanding is obligation,
In order to become Perfect,

From where comes your path?
To where your range destined?
Who is unaware of this cycle,
Is being just like a brute.

There needs a guide to state;
God as “perception of truth”.
For the ones without guide,
Knowledge is only a doubt.

Don’t let each guide to speak out,
He breaks bad your own path,
The path belonging to Perfect,
Is actually being so smooth.

Find out: it’s just a Word,
Not a slope it’s so smooth.
All universe is just a face,
Watcher becomes enamored.

Hear the Word of Niyazi;
God never closes his face,
God is the most obvious but,
Hidden for those who can’t see.

Emre – There had been a face which is admired by all the ones who see. So, why we didn’t see this face? Niyazî says the reason : “It is hidden for those who can’t see”. There is a verse in Koran saying: “The one who is blind here also is blind in the Other World.

Q. – While our prophet was sitting in a small mosque, a Badoin had come. He asked what is to be muslim, what have to be done. Our Prophet had mentioned him about religious duties and sunnah. The man had said “I perform the religious duties but not the sunnah. Upon this, The Prophet Mohammed had turned to his followers and said:   

“If he is loyal about this promise, that’s a man who deserves heaven.”

Emre – Is the religious duty only prayer? Isn’t the words, orders of Koran religious duty?

Q. – It is religious duty.

Emre – In Koran it is said that “kill your ego!” why don’t we do this?

Q. – Does the one who perform the religious duties need a guide?

Emre – He does.

Q. – What is the meaning of the remark “Knowledge is a point”.

Emre – Those periods in which this remark said, there was no other knowledge other than the theology. Here in this remark the knowledge corresponds to theology and the point belongs to the theology.

Lets imagine that religion is a path in which destination is God. Lets then say that God is a point. Is there any path remained in point reached? In Koran in order to tell this it is said that : “Perform the prayer till you meet your Lord without suspicion. “ The one who came near to Sultan, forgets everything. He/she just looks at his face and eyes with admiration. Point is the eye, and pupilar of Sultan. This is the greatest knowledge.

But this can’t manifest suddenly. Some people do this suddenly as an imitation. They become profane. This path is dangerous. Lets leave everyone alone together with their conscience.

Human can’t see God unless turning on lamp of conscience and warming up his/her own heart. Human heart is the house of both God and Devil. When the lamp of conscience turned on the devil’s eye becomes glared and runs away.  

That electrical light was hidden in earth. It is manifested by scientists. In this earth there are a lot of hidden things. Even in this earth of human body there are many things. The ones who invented atom used it in some useful jobs. Beside they also murdered many people with atom bomb. But the one who knows this body, always works for our benefit.

Q. – Ahmedî Rufâî says “If one doesn’t obey the sheria (religious orders), beware of him even if he flies in the air!”

Emre – What is sheria?

Q. – There are some rules of Islam and Faith as a Knowledge.

Emre – Look, what does Yunus Emre says:

Biz tâlibi ilimleriz,
Aşk kitabın okuruz,
Çalap müderris bize,
Aşık medresesidir.

Yetmiş iki millete
Bir göz ile bakmıyan,
Halka müderris olsa,
Hakikatte âsidir.

Şeriatın sözünü
Şer’ ile dinle ey yâr:
Şeriat bir gemidir,
(Hakikat), deryasıdır.

Ol gemi dâiresi
Ne kadar muhkem olsa,
Deryada mevc olunca,
Kırıp ufadasıdır.

Bundan içeri haber
Dinlegil benden ey yâr:
Hakikatin kâfiri,
Şer’in evliyasıdır.

To the wisdom we aspire,
Love book is note of lecture,
Our professor is God Himself,
This is university of lover.

The one who doesn’t value,
Seventy two nations as one,
Despite of being professor,
In reality he is an unruly.

Listen the sheria’s word,
Being judicial my beloved.
While sheria is being a ship,
Its ocean is the Truth.

Even if the ship’s board,
Is being so much hard,
If storm occurs in ocean,
It sure will be destroyed.

Listen the news beyond
From me, my beloved:
Infidel of the truth,
Is the sheria’s saint.

Emre – In another one he says:

Aşk imamdır bize, gönül cemâat,
Dost yüzü kıbledir, dâimî salât.
Can secdeye vardı Dost mihrâbına,
Yüz yere vuruban eder münâcat.

Beş vakit namazımız bir vakta geldi,
Beş bölük oluban kim kıla tâat?
Yârenler bize der ki: (Şartı bırakma!),
Şart şol kişiye ki ola hiyânet.

Doğruluk beklemek Dost eşiğinde,
Gümansızdır âna ilahî devlet.
Kimsenin dinîne hilâf demeyiz,
Din tamam olunca doğar muhabbet.

Biz Dostu görünce şirk yağmalandı,
Onunçün kapıda kaldı şeriat.
Yunus öyle esirdir ol eşikte,
Diyeler: Kurtulmasın ezel, ebed!

Love is our imam, communion is divine heart,
An endless Prayer; kiblah is face of Dost,
Life is prostrated himself to Dost’s altar,
Appeals when face touches the earth.

Our five times prayer now turned to one,
Who obeys the God’s rule as in five section?
Our friends say us: “don’t give up order”
Order is needed for the one in treason.

Waiting in front of Dost is rightness,
He/she deserves holy state, doubtless.
We don’t object to anyone’s religion;
When it’s completed, reveals fondness.

As we saw Dost, shirk is destroyed,
For this reason sheria stayed at door.
Yunus is such a prisoner at threshold,
Let them say:“may he never save forever”.

As a result the order and punishment is for the offenders and infidels. This remark is so sad. But who is said?  Yunus Emre who has been absent in God.  This is not for common. Prayer and fast is necessary. But sheria is not only prayer and fast. Those words of Yunus, Mevlânâ, were said in order to explain this fact. In order to make us think “ why did they said so?

(During this time Emre’s wife came and said to open the window. The room was so hot. This made us comfortable and we could breath deeply. Upon this, Emre told this narrative):

Emre – The people in Karatepe village is a bit naive. Some of them had come to the city together. While passing through the Köşgerler market, they’ve seen the red boots and all of them bought one. On the way to return their village they’ve been tired and sat near the river. While hanging down, they were watching their red boots with pleasure. Some of them had said “alas” ! All of them said “what happened” The poor man said: “our feet are mixed now how can we find our own foot ?” All of them started to think; “Vaw! What shall we do now?”

While they were talking this way, a shepperd was listening them. He came near to the villagers of Karatepe with his baton and said: “stand up you stupid! “ and then he basted their foot.  This made them realize their own feet and stand up. Then they said : “May God bless you, we couldn’t discriminate our feet without you”. 

We also couldn’t wake up without my wife !

Q – In a revelation it has been said that “Every moment is succeeded by a hereafter. “What does it mean? 

Emre – Do we know if we are alive after a moment? Beyond each moment an afterlife can come. Therefore we have to finish our job as soon as possible. Lets give our lifes to God in this world, without dying forced. If we die forced, Azrael takes our life in very bad state.

The notes from the conversation which is saved at 5.05. 1957:

Emre – In each human there is a humanity but it is in highly deep. If you try to deal with him/her, this can victimize the others. For this reason, it is necessary to serve the nearest one; I mean the lover. First of all obligatory alms are for the relatives. Similar to this, the alms of mystical knowledge must be given to the ones with closed reason.  You will give the ones who absorbe more. Real affinity is the affinity of reason, love and inwardness.

Real maturity is being servant. But this serve is so nice. Maturity does not mean being greatness.

This body seen is full of various lifes. They have mouth, ear like us; they need food. Our mouth feeds them. Mouth can’t get even one over million from those foods it chew and eat. Mouth is the servant of the other organs but only itself gets the taste.

This serve is so tasty… But they serve without seeing their blame, guilt and without segregation of the people according to their temperament or sect. Despite of this, they are called as infidel, profane, but he tolerates. The man who defeated his ego, listens the bad words of people with pleasure like listening the nightingale. To kill ego is also not easy job. Human He should be like Hazrat Ali so that he can make the soul kneel… In a symbolic way it has been said that Hazrat Ali conquered the castle of blood first of all. Castel of the blood is this body. Isn’t it full of blood? So, Hazrat Ali conquered the castle of his ego. In this way, the ones who trained his/her ego and become lost in ocean of Great Being, want goodness for everyone. We also must demand goodness for everyone as much as we can, if it’s not possible, at least with our tongue or heart.  We need to love each other then the whole people.

The first job is love. We need to avoid to do both making wrong and to accuse. Top of the errors is lie. The one who doesn’t lie is not cruel. Curse also stands till to the day of judgement. That means for the confessors there always will be probability of mercy. The day of judge is the day to confess and know his/her own weakness.

The beginning of worship and wisdom is to leave both World.  The meaning of  “to leave” is “not to be defeated ”. Ego is also a world. The one who claim this, is cruel. The infidel is the one who doesn’t see the truth.

For this reason let’s deal with our deficiencies instead of others’.

Q. – What is your opinion about miracle?

Emre – The Prophet Mohammed, had showed Koran to those who demand miracle.

This state manifests in some people who is following the way of sufism. If they like and repeat this state, they can’t go further; stay there. The ones who saw the miracle are also in trouble; because they demand to do the same thing and forget the real aim. Howewer the real aim is to be annihilated. Instead they sink to the marsh of ego and pride which is worse.

I’ve told this before more than once, lets repeat: Some day while The Prophet Mohammed and Hazrat Ali were sitting, a women complains about a man who she seized by his collar.  

—Sir, this man ate my yogurt.

—Do you have two witnesses?

—No.

—I can’t do anything.

Women leaves as being so sad. Hazrat Ali, can’t endure:

—You Mohammed, I’ve seen yogurt in his belly. How did it happen?

—You Ali, I’ve also seen the man while he was eating yogurt. I was together with him. But we can’t build the structure of justice on the miracle. Will the judges, qadis in future be able to see the yogurt in belly of guilty just like us? In order to judge, they will need two witnesses. We are living now in this society not beyond.

Is there any benefit for the humanity because of the ones who showed miracles? On the contrary, they decoyed the people drawing them apart from their own path. This is evil instead of miracle. The most important miracle of saints is to hug and save us from this dump. 

When I was a child, some gipsies were showing miracles. In the village of Kumrulu, a Gipsy with a beard and friends were walking around carrying a tambourine. Someone said to them   “ you are dancer boys, lets dance”. Man got hot to this word, gave his tambourine to the friend, took out the skewer from his waist and stroke into his belly. That was a miracle. Does it have any benefit?

The real miracle is to yield to God. The miracle is to capture the power of miracle and give it back to the owner.  

At one time there had been a perfect man in continuous silence. The followers of him who aware of his spiritual greatness had been feeded from his face by looking at him. One of them who is not fully convinced, says: “My sir, I wish many people come and benefit from us. “  Master replies “my son don’t deal with this job” . But when the man repeats his request many times, master says because of his compassion:”ok, open a dervish lodge and teach the attendies. “ The man asks “ how can I do this? “ Master says “ teach them what you have learned. “Man says ok and opens a dervish lodge. But there is no one to come. He comes to his master to inform this. Master answers: “Tomarrow you will find a dead crow on the way of mosque, take it and blow its nose. Don’t deal any other thing. “

The next day man sees that there really is a dead crow on the way to the mosque. He bends and takes the crow. The others passing through the way looks at him with wonder. When man blew the nose of crow, it comes to life and flies.  Upon this, all of the people around comes.  They say “what a great man, he showed miracle! He made the dead crow fly!” Then hundreds of people attends to his dervish lodge. But he starts to get bored from this useless crowd and feels helpless.  He again says his master : “my sir, I am sick and tired of them.”  Master answer: “ ok. you understood. Take a rectum of animal. Wash it clearly and blow it up. During the morning prayer make it sound while you prostrating. “ The man accepts.

The other day when he applied this, the ones who is praying after him says “ Vow, infidel, did you see what he did… It’s not right to obey him! “

Then he comes to his master and says : “ thanks God, they’ve all gone.“ Master says : “sure son, the one who comes because of crow, goes because of fart also.“

The notes from conversation at 27.04.1955:

Emre – The meaning of Koran will be understood from now on. If we hold a Koran in darkness,  neither we can see it nor understand. Then after a while, our eye uses to see and if we read, we can understand after comprehension. Koran can’t be understood unless giving up manhood. If Koran is the word of God, then no one can understand it unless being absent in God. The actual meaning of word can only be understood by the owner of this word.

Q. – The Prophet Mohammed mostly dealed with Hazrat Ali. Did he inspire Hazrat Ebûbekir also?   It is said that he inspired Hazrat Ebûbekir in cave.

Emre – This knowledge is related with state. The one can’t wear this state without exiting the cave of mind and body. The first believer is Hazrat Hatice. Religion is a path consisting of holy degrees, phases. We all are walking in this path. While The Prophet Mohammed was walking in this phased path, his last comprehension was manifested as a state at night which is called as “Kadir” (Night of Worth)  . At that night a state which couldn’t be cognized by the previous prophets, frightens him. He afraids of the manifestation of God and comes home quakingly. He goes to bed and demands wrap. His loyal wife enters the bed in order to warm up his husband who is freezing. When she hugs his back tightly, the state of The Prophet Mohammed is transferred to her fully because of her eternal love. When the state is manifested in her, she asks him: “You Mohammed! Did you see something like this?” He replies “ Yes Hatice.”

They try to understand and solve this state. At the third day they solve the case and understand. They call this day “Arefe”.  In Arabic language, arefe means “he/she knew”. The trouble is solved when it is known, then isn’t it holiday coming after that.  Then they called it holiday.

These are the last phases of The Prophet Mohammed.  The night in which this state is manifested is called as Kadir “The Night of Worth” . Kadir means worth, I mean the worthy night then “arefe” comes I mean the day of knowledge and understanding. At the end the eternal holiday comes.

Let’s talk about Hazrat Ali; while The Prophet Mohammed was trying to be absent in God through the self-denial and meditation in Hira Mountain,  his holiness were visiting him because of his deep love for him.  He used to wait near to him. That means he always was bonded to him. He used to see the same thing which he saw.

Because of the wrong perception in our society, women were not considered to be worthwhile. So this caused disrespect against to Hatice’s progression. They say Hazrat Ali was child. They respect Ebûbekir as being the first muslim because he was old and wise.

Q. – My aim is to know the first One who is been inspired. To whom the path which sufists follow is been inspired Hazrat Ali or Hazrat Ebûbekir?

Emre –Hazrat Ebûbekir is third one. They all are one but Hazrat Ali’s path is love and compassion. Hazrat Ali, loved The Prophet Mohammed so much.  Love accomplishes many things. Look, love made you to come here. When we unite each other with love, who can separate us? The past and the last of this path is love. 

Q. – Did He also inspired Hazrat Omer and Hazrat Osman?

Emre – Sure. Don’t you tell this state to your beloved ones? Does the sun differentiate the creatures in order to give its light?

In this way one can’t accomplish this job if he/she is not loyal like Hazrat Ebûbekir, self controlled like Hazrat Omer, intelligent like Hazrat Osman, brave like Hazrat Ali.

One understands from what he/she read with respect to its education. I read fast. Can I understand if I take an engineering book? This state also can’t be understood by reading the books of sufism unless having this state with the aid of a tutor.

Now the books of sufism must be written according to the intellectuals instead of common people. That means the truth must be given to their consience directly I mean without shell.

The notes saved from the conversation at 11.04. 1957:

Emre – There is resurrection day; whatever everyone do is right at that moment. But there is something beyond. 

Despite of how much you open, if it’s not the appropriate time, it remains as symbol. In order to understand, it’s needed to find the ear of teller and listen. Otherwise human can only understand what is told according to his/her mind. In order to be just same as the teller, it’s needed to have love. For this reason, all of the lovers are yelling as love! love! Love is the shortest way.

Q. – How will we able to bring love to our heart?

Emre – Does love come? It’s the king of everything, it’s lion. We will go to it. If human doesn’t mix his/her own knowledge and will to the source of knowledge, can understand nothing. Lakes can’t become sea without falling down to the sea. If it doesn’t fall, it dries.

This state is the trouble for all people. But no time remains to think about this inner trouble because of the others.

But the human reason is becoming intellectual as a whole. Does the human in a thousand years ago and today same? But if unity could be understood, it would be clear that the teller and the one who wants to understand is one actually.

The notes from conversation at 7.10.1956:

Emre – Someones assume sufism as tariq, the others think that it is against religion; something like irreligion. Because of sufism is a mirror, everyone cognize according to his character. Sufism owns each religion. It doesn’t reject any religion. Does mirror rejects the one who is in front of it? In order to interiorize and accept everyone, it’s needed to be pure like a mirror.

Sufists doesn’t see the deficiency of anyone, on the contrary they all see the good sides. They look, listen and tell through the filter of analysis and elimination. For this reason, his way of thinking, opinions, listenings and words are all clear. Sometimes they talk as being deficient but we need to seek this deficiency in ourselves. But he talks according to our colour. That means he says the deficiencies of our mind.

Sufist say the ones to whom they invite: “Leave your mind!” . This order doesn’t mean that “be mad”. Reason is a light, a part which is departed from the great divine light of God. The one who left it, becomes either mad or dead. The meaning of “giving up the mind” is to forget about the old states, old informations of yourself.  In order to get benefit, you need to bring your jug empty. Those who comes there with their own egoist wishes, run away when they can’t obtain what they search.

*Emre – The truth is similar to the human instead of animal. Just like the necessity of wearing for human, the truth also needs to be weared. It has to be closed, secret and symbolised. For  this reason it is called as “ Secret Knowledge”.

Each prophet wears it with another clothe. Religion and sheria is the clothe of the truth.

 * Emre – God The Creator is in a uniqe state. But the creatures are in the state of being. The verse “Every day He exerciseth (universal) power” must be understood in this way.

* Emre – If one in our age tells his/her beads this is called as an unending job. We have tried those unending jobs many times. Now we are in the age of understanding and wisdom.

* Emre – There was no prophet who is bilingual. If it were, their book had to be given in both language.

* Emre – The top of each wisdom is fear much the same as the skill. Rockets would not be invented without the fear of enemy.

* Emre – The visit of a President is not realised alone. Just like this,  God doesn’t enter a heart alone. Love, compassion, conscience, mercy, modesty are the employees of God coming together with him. Therefore the heart who invite God, must not be narrow. The ones with wide heart doesn’t angry anyone, they tolerate everything.

The Explanation Nasreddin Hodja Narratives in Sufic Way

“You liked, I filled it up!”

            While Nasreddin Hodja, was riding his donkey on his way, despite of Hodja’s strong pulling the headgear, donkey had been snifting all of its turds.  Nasreddin Hoca had been filling up the turds he sniffed, to its bag.  

            At the evening he hanged the bag full of turd to his head in order to make it eat.  Donkey rejected to eat of them trying to take out his head from the bag. Hojca said:

—You liked it, I’ve filled it up, why do you reject it now?

Explanation:

Hodjca, was trying to give us a lesson. The donkey in this joke is our ego which is defeated by the brutal desires. The main character of donkey is its obstinacy. He/ she doesn’t give up to sniff the dirts of egoist wishes despite of the warnings of his/her tutor who make him/her walk in the path of unity and salvation. If this situation goes on, the owner sure will hang the bag full of desires of dirts at the evening that means during death.

Kalbinde tek kalır Hazreti Rahmân.

Onlardır vermeyen, dimağına tad:
Her biri bir huyda, eyle dışarı;
Birisi kalırsa, çok verir fesat.

Onlardan kurtulur, tek meşrep olan,
Dost ile bir olur yalınız kalan,
Ne kadar lütfetsen, idrâk edemez,
Ârzusundan başka bilir mi hayvan?

(Emre)! idrâk eyle, nefsine lâyık,
Senden sana söyler; işit te ayık!
Kimseyi sözüne sen tutma hedef,
Mâşuktan ayrılmaz dâima âşık.

Kendinden ayırmaz sözü duyanı,
Hâliyle muhittir bütün her yanı;
(Emre)! Kimselere sen etme isnad,
Mevlâ affetmiştir kefen soyanı.

Günahın büyüğü: eli kınamak;
Ziyâya yaklaş ta sen gönlüne bak;
Azaların yönü ön taraftadır,
Çukura düşürmez toprağa bakmak.

Acep sen Allah’ın vekili misin?
Halkı hor görenin sen dili misin?
Ele cellâd lazım: sana ne lâzım?
Mansur’u asanın bir eli misin?

Mevlâ’ya yakından, doğar hep şefkat,
Şeytana yakından doğar mel’ânet

Sen kendi hâline eyle merhamet

My heart! Are you able to improve?
At least it would be realised your vow,
If you want to be saved, wish is in you,
You can’t be saved as being nonloyal.

Can the second attrition be accepted?
“Repeated trial is fault” says hadith;
Book of knowledge, loaded to donkey,
In that case does it able to get benefit?

It has no finger, can’t let down and open,
Instead of five, its number of nail is one,
If you open the logic book before it,
Gives up, watches vineyard, garden.

You say, it just listens its own mood,
Unaware if the sapling is thin or wide.
Doesn’t evaluate the rose and flower,
Turns and perishes the brunch delicate.

Its job always to be in doubt,
Its bed is consisting of its turd.
What can I do, still it’s donkey;
Despite of coton surcingle cloth.

It’s unaware from where comes harm,
The turd smelling to itself, is its own;
If there is no turd smelling on the way,
Turns head and looks trying to find.

Human surrounds of whole animal,
God bestowed upon in such a rule.
If he can get rid of the other titles,
In his heart just stays The Merciful.

Emre improve! You have the chance,
They’re balking your brain’s taste.
Each has a character let them out;
If one stays, cause much intrigue.

Gets rid of them who has uniqe mood,
Who is alone becomes one with God,
Despite of all grace, it can’t cognize,
Does animal knows other than its want?

Your self deserves Emre! May you understand,
Hear and wake up! From you to you, it’s said,
While saying, don’t take someone as target,
Lover always being together with the beloved.

Never detached from him, the hearer of word,
Its state is surrounding the whole side,
Emre! You never ascribe to somebody,
God had even forgiven thief of shroud.

The sin about to shame the other, is worst,
Converge the light, look at your heart;
The organs look into the front side,
Falling to dip isn’t end of looking earth.

Are you the agent of God, I wonder?
Are you the voice of the insulter?
Others need deathman, what do you need?
Are you a hand of hangman of Mansur?

God’s friends always manifest mercy,
But evil’s friends manifests malice,
Emre! If you meet the one who said:
You need mercy for your own face.
